Donation requests
Giving back to our community comes naturally. Each year we set aside a budget for local organizations, and while we can only approve a limited number of the many requests we receive, we read every one.
Requests open January 1
January through April
We review donation requests during the first four months of the year. Please plan ahead for events later in the year.

Registered 501(c)(3) organizations hosting an event, fundraiser, or program that serves our local community.
People, learning, and the outdoors
Health and human services, education, and environmental preservation.
How to apply
- Download the request form
M22 Donation Request Form (PDF). Fill in every section, including your event date and how the donation will be used.
- Attach your nonprofit documents
Include a copy of your IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter and your 9-digit Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN). We can’t review a request without them.
- Send it between January and April
Email your completed form and documents to sales@m22.com with “Donation request” in the subject line.
- Hear back from us
If your request is approved, you’ll generally hear from us at least 2–3 weeks before your event, fundraiser, or program date.
Questions
Which organizations are eligible?
We accept requests from local nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status. The event, fundraiser, or program must serve the local community.
We can’t donate to political or religious organizations, unless the donation will be used for a local, secular, community service event or program.
Who isn’t eligible?
We don’t donate products to individuals or to individuals seeking pledges, and we can’t support causes outside the state of Michigan.
Why do you need our 501(c)(3) letter and EIN?
The determination letter issued by the IRS confirms your nonprofit status. It’s different from a state tax-exempt form. For accounting purposes, we keep documentation for every request we process on file for seven years.
Can we apply more than once?
We accept one request per organization each year. Past support doesn’t guarantee future support, since our donation budget is limited and requests change each year.
How do I check on the status of our request?
Because of the number of requests we receive, email is the best way to reach us: sales@m22.com. Please include your organization’s name and event date.
Beyond local donations, we give 1% of our profits to the Leelanau Conservancy to protect the land and water we all love.
